Lekker South Africa 2026

lekker: commonly used in South African slang to mean great, sweet, nice, or delicious

November 20 - 30, 2026

  • Days 1 - 4 : Cape Town

Our lekker experience begins in Cape Town, a city rich with history, culture and natural beauty. Perched below the Cape Fold Mountain Range on the Atlantic Ocean, we will explore all parts of this vibrant place. From its robust variety of culinary delights to its dramatic scenery, we will walk, eat and learn our way through Cape Town to gain a deep understanding of South Africa’s vast history. We will engage with locals, learn to cook local food, visit Robben Island, and venture to the top of Table Mountain.

  • Days 5 - 6 : Garden Route

We embark on a road trip along the spectacular Garden Route, home to stunning coastline, pristine nature, and opportunities for stops and walks along the way. We will spend one night here and make our way through Tsitsikamma National Park to immerse ourselves in the country’s natural wonders.

  • Day 7 : Addo Elephant National Park

Home to over 600 elephants and the rest of the “Big 5,” our time in Addo will be filled with the African wildlife you grew up dreaming about. While we will most certainly see elephants, we will test our luck for spotting lions, leopards, rhinos and buffalo here.

  • Day 8 - 11 : Oudtshoorn, Hermanus & Cape Winelands

South Africa is a country of extremes–from the desolate Karoo desert to the lush and wild landscapes of the coast. After enjoying the lush coast earlier in the trip, we will head to Oudtshoorn, a wacky inland town with wonderful caves and stargazing magic. We will then slide back to the coast to take our chances at whale watching in Hermanus while finishing the day with local wine. The following day we will head back to the Cape to taste more wine in the heart of the rural winelands before departures on Day 11.
